Auditors
Eligible Occupational Health and Safety Programs
Not all occupational health and safety (OHS) programs are
created equal. To meet the requirements to become an Enform
External Auditor, the certificate, diploma, or degree program must
meet the following requirements:
1. Be issued from an accredited institution,
2. Consist of a minimum of 300 hours of classroom instruction
and/or self-study; and
3. Cover the following ten applications-based core
competencies:
a. Accident Theory
b. Incident Investigation
c. Safety Techniques/Technology
d. Occupational (Industrial) Hygiene
e. Emergency Preparedness and Response
f. Risk Management
g. Ergonomics
h. OHS Law and Ethics
i. OHS Legislation/Regulation
j. Safety Management Systems

for acceptable educational programs:

If your occupational health and safety certificate, diploma, or
degree is not listed and you would like to have it assessed for
meeting Enform's External Auditor prerequisite, please call the COR
Hotline at 1 (877) 250-6222 for further direction. Please gather
the following information prior to calling:
- Proof of Program Completion (copy of certificate,
diploma or degree)
- Complete list of program transcripts
- List of courses which includes:
• Course description
• Number of hours credited
