Every time a new worker steps foot on your turf, there’s a lot to consider. Things like training, orientation, defining responsibilities and more. What you shouldn’t have to worry about is whether they’ll make it home at the end of their shift.

New worker safety training – today’s hot topic

New worker safety trainingTo a new worker, safety training might not seem like the most exciting part of the new job – but it’s what’s going to get everyone home.

According to Marc Maloney, HSE manager at Global Well Servicing, “new workers often have a lack of knowledge and skills which can place them in danger of serious injury or death if they’re not properly supervised.” And we all know that an error made by one worker can impact the safety of everyone else.

That’s why safety training needs to start before a new employee enters the workplace. And, this is also why you’ll find us weighing in on the subject whenever we get the chance. As an employer you should check out our General Safety Orientation (GSO) Guideline and eGSO, which will get you started with your own new worker safety training program. And, of course, we also have a bunch of other safety resources and training programs, which are good for new and seasoned workers alike.
