Wearing the correct personal protective equipment for the job is important at all times. But when you’re working at heights, it’s a matter of life and death.
According to WorkSafeBC, falls from elevations lead to the most serious injuries with the longest recovery periods. So, next time you’re working at height, remember to check your PPE – do you have the correct harness, and is it regularly inspected and maintained? Does the job require specific boots, hard hat or gloves? Is there anything else the task demands?
