COR
Types of CORs and COR Audits
Baseline Audit
The extent and limitations of an employer's current safety program
are determined by having an audit of the existing safety program.
This audit provides information concerning areas of the safety
program that require upgrading.
External Audit/Certification Audit (for
COR)
This is an audit of an employer's safety program conducted by a
certified auditor who is not an employee of the company. These
audits, using a recognized audit protocol, must be conducted on
three-year intervals to renew an existing COR.
Limited Scope COR
If an employer has an existing COR and the score of the external
audit falls between 70% and 79% due to changes in the updated Basic
Safety Program (BSP) Protocol, the employer may contact Enform for
assistance. Enform can approve utilization of a Limited Scope COR
designation while the employer is upgrading the deficiencies
identified in the audit.
Six Month COR
Granted when an existing COR is about to expire, or if the company
is attempting to adjust their anniversary date, and, for a number
of reasons, there are no work sites available to audit. The audit
is confined to reviewing documentation and interviewing employees
("Administrative Audit Only"). A six-month COR may be issued.
Contact the Enform Safety Audit Analysis and AEI for approval.
One Year COR
A One Year COR can be issued when an employer is new to the COR
program and is in the process of expanding their program in the
immediate future. Or, when the safety management system has only
recently been implemented and there is not the required historical
information for a three-year COR. Both AEI and Enform must jointly
approve a One Year COR.
Partnership Audit Standard Equivalency
(PASE)
If a company has a developed safety program with well established
health and safety management systems, and has used a program other
than the BSP, the employer may apply to the Certifying Partner for
participation in the Partnerships Audit Standard Equivalency (PASE)
program. There are certain criteria, which the employer must meet
in order to participate in the program.
