Obtaining COR or SECOR Certification
Get a COR or SECOR
The first step in getting an Enform COR or SECOR is to register with
Enform. If you are in Alberta, you also need to register
your company in the WCB PIR
program. If you want to know what all the steps to getting a
COR or SECOR are, keep reading. If you want

How to Obtain a COR (for any company with more than 10
employees)
To acquire a COR, an employer must take the following steps:
1. Register with Enform and Provincial
WCB (if applicable)
2. Develop and implement a health and
safety management system that meets provincial standards
3. Select an Enform Certified H&S
Auditor
4. Have an audit completed and achieve
a passing mark (80% overall with no less than 50% in any one
element)
5. Submit the audit to the Enform for
Quality Assurance review
6. A COR will be issued for audits that
meet the required standards
If an employer has a comprehensive health and safety management
system in place, the time required to complete an audit and have it
reviewed by Enform could be very short.
However, if the employer needs to develop a health and safety
system, the time required to complete the COR process will be
significantly longer. Employers can utilize Enform training,
existing in-house expertise and/or contract health and safety
professionals to create a health and safety management system.
Once you have a COR, you need to maintain it annually. Click here to learn more about annual
