Description
This two-day course is designed to enhance the skills of management, supervisors, safety professionals and those responsible for the development and/or implementation of safety programs.
This training course emphasizes the value of the six program elements found in a basic safety program and concentrates on the development and implementation of Enform Industry Recommended Practice (IRP) 9. Hazard assessment, inspection skills and auditing are also addressed as necessary elements in monitoring a safety program.
Upon completion of the program, the candidate will be able to understand, develop and implement company safety programs in preparation for a successful audit. This course is required for the Health and Safety Certificate of Recognition Program (currently available in Alberta and BC), and the Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) Program for employers with ten or fewer employees.
The completion of this program is the first step in the development of a safety program leading to the issuance of a Certificate of Recognition (COR) or Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR). The candidate, in order to represent their company for SECOR purposes, must be the owner or the most senior operational person or employee familiar with the overall work operation.
