Enform Connect Certifications Fact Sheet
November 17, 2011

Enform certifications are changing with the development of Enform Connect – a suite of web based tools that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your online interaction with us.

Reasons for Change
Enform’s training certifications are critical to the safety of the upstream oil and gas industry and many certifications are recognized as essential. As such, Enform is committed to:

  • Reduce the time for certification (get the worker to work as soon as possible),
  • Improve the legitimacy of the certification (reduce misuse and fraud) and
  • Provide timely access to certification information (to workers and their employers).

What’s Changing

New Features with Enform's Industry Recognized Certificates

To accompany the many improvements coming from Enform Connect, we are pleased to announce an upgrade in our course certificates as well.

These newly designed certificates carry a key feature to protect against identity theft and fraud. Much like bank cards, only the most recently printed certificate can be used by the person it belongs to. Should your certificate be lost or stolen, a new certificate can easily be ordered through your online account. All you need to do is set up a personal profile, log in, and choose the replacement certificate option in the e-store.

Older versions of certificates are still valid. If you have taken a course which doesn't require re-certification, such as Petroleum Safety Training, the certificate does not expire. These older versions may look different but are still recognized by industry standards. Ordering a replacement certificate involves a small administrative fee and should only be requested when your current certificate is lost, stolen, or expires.

We will mail replacement certificates to the address you provide so please take a minute and be sure it is complete. Any questions or concerns can be addressed to customerservice@enform.ca

Enform Connect New Online Services
Available at the End of 2011
November 15, 2011

Enform Connect will provide you with 24/7, fast and easy to use access to our new online services. This shift will make contacting and interacting with Enform much more simple and straightforward. Access to these services should significantly reduce the telephone wait times during peak registration periods.

Enform Connect will enable you to “SearchRegisterPay” for courses in an easy to use “Add to Shopping Cart” environment. From your personal page you are also able to order replacement certificates, update your personal and business contact information and view the courses you are registered in and all your current certificates complete with expiry dates.

Once you have registered for a course using the new system, all your information will be available to you online simply by logging in to the system using your email address and a password of your choice. Going forward, your new certificate will display your unique Enform Student ID number, which will be key in correctly identifying you in the new system.

Improvements to the Course Certification Process
Over the past year, Enform actively surveyed the industry and engaged all our stakeholders. Many of you generously provided your feedback, and we listened. The insights you provided helped us to develop tools to serve you betterBased on what we have heard from you, Enform has made significant changes to improve the registration and certification process.

We heard of the need to reduce the time it takes for you to receive your certificates and get you on your company’s worksites. Once the new system goes live, we will be sending Enform certificates directly to the address of your choice. This one change will allow for other improvements that will significantly reduce the certification turnaround time.

The Enform Connect revised certification process will improve security by allowing for only one version of your certificate to be valid at a time. Should you request a replacement certificate, the original certificate is marked invalid in the Connect system, only one certificate is valid at a time. A unique QR code is displayed on every certificate for future employer in-field validation using a smartphone or similar camera enabled mobile device.

These improvements will help to address industry concerns of reporting misuse of certificates. In addition, the improved certification process will assist employers with validating your certificates. Enform understands that many of our industry partners require documentation and that your company may require a record of your certifications; to remedy this Enform has made an Official Record of Training available to your company upon request. Please realize that these changes in the certification process will not take place until the new system goes live later this year.

Shortly after “Go-Live”, we will be sending you additional information on where to find Enform Connect on the web and what you will need to login. Please visit www.enform.ca and click on Enform Connect News for additional information.

Enform Connect PST Scantron Update
Keeping You Connected to Safety
November 4, 2011

On behalf of the team at Enform, I'm excited to fill you in on the progress of Enform Connect, the suite of web based tools that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your interaction with us. We’re looking forward to rolling out Enform Connect by the end of 2011, and ultimately, speeding up our students certification turnaround time for Petroleum Safety Training (PST) customers.

Once Enform Connect goes live at the end of 2011, students will benefit from faster certification processing speeds, due in large part to the simplified Scantron marking and database system we will be putting in place. Student’ permanent certification cards for PST program will become much easier to process with the use of the Scantron Student Data Sheets (click here to view a sample of the new Student Data Sheet).

Enform Connect will also offer online ordering of your Petroleum Safety Training (PST) materials through Enform's e-store. The e-store will conveniently offer course packs including all required elements, such as temporary certificates and Student Data Sheets. Specifically for the PST program you will be required to pre-purchase temporary certificates for the program if you require permanent certification. We will no longer be able to invoice for permanent certificates after the fact.

For PST certification submissions you will be required to follow the same process as we currently use. However in addition to the submission of the PST Certification Report and Student Progress report, you will be required to submit a Student Data Sheet for each student. These Student Data Sheets will be mailed out starting immediately to all PST customers that submit their PST Certification Reports and Student Progress Reports for permanent certification. Effective November 21, 2011 all PST documentation submitted for permanent certification by Enform will require a Student Data Sheet submitted with the package for each student. If required documentation is not received it can create further delays in the permanent PST Certificate being issued to the student.

Please note that the back page (Sections 1 – 5) of the Student Data Sheets is not required to be completed for the PST submissions.

Sincerely,

Melissa Poruchny, BAIE, NCSO, CRSP
Program Manager, Health and Safety Training

Enform Connect – Keeping You Connected to Safety
July 11, 2011

Enform is focused on responding to the evolving safety needs of the upstream oil and gas industry. We value the vital role you play in keeping industry workers educated about safety, and by extension, assisting Canada’s oil and gas industry achieve workplace safety excellence. For this reason, we’re excited to announce the development of Enform Connect – a suite of web based tools that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your interactions with us.

Launching in late 2011, Enform Connect will provide users with a fast and easy-to-navigate online environment. This shift will make contacting and interacting with Enform much more simple and straightforward. To be clear, this is not a facelift; it’s a significant overhaul that will position Enform to provide even greater service to our partners.

Improving the Student Course Certification Process
Over the past year, Enform actively surveyed the industry and engaged our stakeholders. You generously provided your feedback, and we listened. The insights you provided will help us to serve you better. Based on what we have heard from you, Enform is making changes to improve the certification process.

We heard of the need to reduce the time it takes to certify students and get them on to their worksites. To remedy this, once the new system has been implemented, we will be sending Enform certificates directly to students. This one change will allow for other improvements which will significantly reduce the certification turnaround time. Again, this change in the certification process will not take place until the new system goes live later this year.

Enform also understands that many of our industry partners require documentation. Therefore, it is the intent to provide companies and franchisees online access to the information they require for their records.

Enform Connect’s revised certification process will improve security by allowing for only one version of a certificate to be valid at a time. This will help to address industry concerns of reported misuse of certificates. In addition, the improved certification process will assist employers with validating certificates presented by their employees.

We look forward to sharing further information with you about the benefits of Enform Connect as we continue to move forward with its implementation.

If you have any questions or comments at this time, please feel free to contact Charlotte Phillips at renew@enform.ca.

Sincerely,
Richard Ogilvie, MBA
