Fatigue Management
The purpose of this document is to help companies design and implement an effective fatigue management program, which can contribute to reducing the incidents and injuries among their workers.

Fatigue Safety Initiative Successes
January 31, 2003, the Fatigue Steering Committee outlined new measures of success focused on fatigue safety including, but not limited to:

  • Continue Awareness Campaign with a series of eight (8) articles called the 'Wake Up Campaign'
  • Produce Four (4) New Articles by January 31, 2004 for the Roughneck Magazine Aimed at Fatigue
  • Investigate feasibility of using Public Service Announcements (PSAs) with CKUA to emphasize role of Fatigue and the Family in the Upstream Industry

Fatigue Safety Information Links
Fatigue is a feeling of tiredness, weariness or lack of energy. Fatigue can be a normal and important response to physical exertion, emotional stress, boredom, or lack of sleep. However, it can also be a nonspecific sign of a more serious psychological or physical disorder. When fatigue is not resolved by enough sleep, or good nutrition, it should be evaluated by your physician. Here you will find a list of great resources dealing with fatigue.
