The IRP 22 Committee is presently revising IRP 22 to better reflect present MPD practices and challenges. They began their work by reviewing, updating, and revising the IRP 22 Risk Register. They have improved its functionality and added a column to sort risks by UPD, MPD, or both.

If you have further suggestions for improving the register or have additions you would like to suggest, send your ideas (along with your contact information) to safety@enform.ca with the subject line "IRP 22 Risk Register".

Other Information

As of 2015, IRP 22 is under Limited Scope Review to address Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) specific issues. As part of that review the committee created a third category of drilling techniques referred to as Returns Management Drilling (RMD).  A complete description of this category and a checklist to be used on-site when performing this type of operation can be found in the RMD Checklist. The RMD Process Flow Diagram and the IRP 22 Risk Register with RMD are supporting documents for the checklist.
